The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for Business Development Manager – AI (based in Aberdeen) reporting directly to the Regional Managing Director. Successful applicants are expected to join immediately.

Location: Aberdeen, The United Kingdom with national & international travel.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute regional sales, marketing, and business development strategies in coordination with Sales & Marketing Director, SS Business Development Director and Regional Management teams.
  • Maintain and update all records of client interactions, leads and opportunities within CRM (Salesforce)
  • Responsible for delivering agreed individual sales targets. The targets will be agreed yearly.
  • Responsible for ensuring a consistent and transparent approach to account management, regional client account management and business acquisition.
  • Maintain strong relationships both inside and outside of the company.
  • Maintain and expand existing client base.
  • Prospect and secure new clients and business.
  • Be self-sufficient, plan, prepare and execute sales trips within regions to visit/maintain existing clients, source new clients and expand business.
  • Plan to attend key market events and conferences and functions as required.
  • Conduct market research, source market intelligence and keep up to date with regional activity in order to act upon this and expand business.
  • Pass on any market intelligence, relevant to other regions, to other Asset Integrity/Group BD personnel/regions.
  • Keep existing clients aware of OES’ service range, upsell and expand OES and DSL’ scope where possible and probe for further opportunities to conduct services.
  • Negotiate with clients in order to obtain the best outcome for Asset Integrity and ensuring Terms and Conditions of sale are accurate, relevant and enforceable.
  • Lead the preparation and collation of technical and commercial proposals and tenders in a timely manner, and ensure they are delivered to the customer.
  • Help to maintain and improve OES and DSL’ image in the marketplace.
  • Liaise and participate in Regional Operations meetings to keep them up to date on potential & upcoming work to assist with planning and resource allocation.
  • Maintain an understanding of feedback on work that is being or has been conducted.
  • Assist in chasing PO’s and payments when needed.
  • Maintain a reasonable technical understanding of OES and DSL’ product/service range.
  • Prepare and conduct presentations.
  • Understand pricing in the market, including competitors pricing.
  • Strive to achieve set KPI.
  • Continuous improvement/ enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of your role.
  • Adhering to company policy on contract handover with SDM and OPRM
  • Follow Joulon code of conduct

Salary: Negotiated after the interview.

Qualifications:

  • A proven track record in sales, ideally in a similar industry. Minimum 3 years (Required)
  • Good general knowledge of the offshore oil industry who is also familiar with the shipyards in the region.
  • Proactive and results driven
  • Strong sales experience and technical background in a similar, or identical, industry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good IT skills, especially in MS applications and the ability to prepare detailed documents, quotations and tender responses
  • Willing and able to spend some evenings and weekends at industry events and entertaining clients
  • Extremely self-motivated and continually challenges themselves
  • Strong planning and time management skills
